Busy Bee Bird...

One might think that a mother's work is never done and this busy bird mom seems to prove that in triplicate.  While passing under a walkway bridge one of our photographers spied a mother bird frantically feeding her three young ones.  By this time of the summer the babies are almost ready to leave the nest and are about the same size as mommy.  She was witnessed to making dozens of quick trips back and forth to feed her hungry brood.  It looked as if she was collecting seeds from the nearby grasses by the quick return runs.
The lighting was dim under the bridge and a little lightening of the photos was necessary to clearly see the miracle of nature in action.  The low lighting also kept the aperture on the camera open longer allowing for the blurring effect.  Almost like a humming bird, mommy flew up quickly, paused in midair for just a second, feeding her young, and then diving down and around for another collection.

They're right, A Mother's Work is Never Done!

We will have several summer outing and vacation postings in the next few weeks.  Please send us a few of your favorites and join in.  We'd love to have you.  Amateurs not only don't have the pressure to always come up with professional looking pictures but are able to enjoy photography by other amateurs as well.  Just make it fun and that's what really counts.  Keep your camera handy and enjoy the world around you, whether in the woods or in the city... it's all good to us!

What pretty birds! And it's amazing how those little creatures build such strong nests!
